Social media and technology provide marketers with the perfect platforms to bolster the reach and engagement of experiential activations. However with so much to choose from, it can be hard to know where to invest your time and resource.

With this in mind, this blog sheds some light on the latest mobile apps, websites and social sharing sites to reveal how they can help you with your latest campaigns. Here, we focus on new updates for video sharing app Vine, crowd-speaking site HeadTalker and YouTube’s new 360 degree video capability.

Vine

Vine has been around since 2012 but its new ‘sharing feature’ is set to bring big benefits for marketers. This new feature allows users to post their videos to multiple places at once, meaning quick and easy revines via Vine messages (VMs), Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter. Vine is a brilliant tool for marketers, allowing users to create six second long looping video clips to showcase a product, service, event or promote a brand message. Some brands are also taking advantage of the influence of some Vine users, enlisting them as brand ambassadors to promote and endorse their products.

HeadTalker

A similar app to last month’s ‘Thunderclap’, however HeadTalker (the new kid on the block) gives users the same features, but it’s free! If you’re planning an experiential campaign, try promoting it on HeadTalker and use the power of the internet to take your messages viral. Once you’ve hit your target reach, your pre-written message will be shared out through your supporter’s social media channels, which really is a marketer’s dream.

 YouTube’s 360 Degrees Videos

We were told it would only be a matter of time before YouTube would support 360-degree videos and that time has finally come. Recently, YouTube announced its video streaming service now lets viewers watch video content in any direction. This new development will really help bring your experiential activations to life, allowing people to view live streams from any perspective.

Thinking of utilising a racing car, putting on a concert or throwing an event, YouTube’s new 360 degrees videos will allow people to stream from the best seat in the house. To use this feature, you must be using a chrome browser and you can simply tap and drag to move the camera around. Find out more here.
